PANGOLIN

Pangolins are really, really, scaly armadillos, they are the most trafficked animals in the world. They can roll up into a ball (in fact their name means roller). They can be found in woodlands and deserts. They eat ants termites and larvae.

Echidnas are small spiny mammals. Like platypus they have a beak and lay eggs. They use their long snout for snorkeling (they swim underwater and stick their beak out of the water)! The echidna is named after the mother of monsters a half woman half snake, she gave birth to most of the Greek monsters!

THORNY DEVIL

Thorny devils are spiked lizards that can cry toxic blood from their eyes. They live in Australian deserts and can drink through their sponge feet and their backs.

Okapi

Okapis are stripey members of the giraffe family. They are relatives to giraffes and are occasionally known as the forest giraffe, Congolese giraffe or zebra giraffe. There are only 22,000. Their tongue is long enough to clean their eyes and ears!



nakEd mole rat

They can grow up to 13 cm. They can survive for a ridiculous 18 minutes without oxygen! Although they lose consciousness after 30 seconds, and their heart rates crash after two minutes and they stop breathing entirely after seven minutes.

Tardigrades are small (like really, really, small) organisms they are 0.04 inches! They can survive literally everything and can be found almost everywhere (but they are far too small for the naked eye to see). They can even survive in space and on Mars!

The Mexican mole lizard, also commonly known as the five-toed worm lizard, or simply as Bipes, is a species of amphisbaenian in the family Bipedidae. They are found in California.

pygmy jerboa

Pygmy jerboas are small (4.4cm not including tail) rodents (some of the smallest) their tails are almost double their body length (8 cm)!

Gulper eels are 2-3 feet in length and can live for around 85 years! They have a tiny light producing organ on their tail called the photophore! Despite their giant jaws they have quite a small diet include small crustaceans. They are found from 500 to 6000 feet underwater.

Aye-aye

The aye aye is a mammal that looks like it has been invented out of scrap pieces . Its big eyes are used to see in the dark as it is nocturnal. Its long index fingers are use to pick off the bark of trees to get the grubs on the inside.

The panda ant also known as the Euspinolia militaris is a type of wingless wasp but it looks like ant and has patterns similar to a panda. It has sting but it is practically harmless to humans, but it can cause a minor allergic reaction.

capybara

The capybara is the largest rodent in the world. They love swimming and live in South America. They are bigger than you average dog and weigh up to 66kg!

blue dragon sea slug

The blue dragon sea slug lives in warm tropical waters and floats on the surface because of the gas filled sack in its stomach.
